We will keep fighting for all libraries - stand with us!
From the Foreword:
The object of this book is to describe not only the evolution of Socialist and Anarchist ideas and their effects in succeeding revolutionary outbreaks, but at the same time to follow the workings of that occult force, terrible, unchanging, relentless, and wholly destructive, which constitutes the greatest menace that has ever confronted the human race.
April 2021 Update:
“So essential did I consider an index to be to every book, that I proposed to bring a bill into Parliament to deprive an author who publishes a book without an index of the privilege of copyright, and, moreover, to subject him for his offense to a pecuniary penalty.”
—Lord John Campbell, 1st Baron Campbell, Scottish statesman, writer and Lord Chancellor of England (1779–1861).
For some reason, World Revolution had originally been published without an index. It took a full century to remedy this drawback. Now, at least in PDF format, you have this œuvre of Nesta H. Webster accompanied with even three fully working (hyperlinked) indices: Index of Persons, General Index, and Bibliography (index of sources referred to in the book).
While checking the books cited by the author, we have discovered that almost all of them are available here, in the Internet Archive.
We have also redrawn the Chart of the World Revolution that accompanied the first editions of the book, but that was often omitted in later reprints. It can be downloaded in PDF format here.
